Customer Appreciation Week . preempted

As you can probably tell, customer appreciation week was viciously interrupted by my obsession with the quilt along (and I'm already pretty far behind in that -- they are just speeding right past me).

Anyway, since I don't like leaving anybody hanging...

Here is one of the cutest kids I have ever seen and she is wearing a Lemon Cadet bun bun polo tee and carrying around her new bean. This is Shannon's daughter. In addition to heading up EtsyKids, she runs a delicious Etsy shop called The Clever Kitty. She bought the shirt a little big so there will be plenty of time to wear it! Check out her blog. It's very nice.

It absolutely kills me to see stuff this cute. Just when I feel like tossing my applique foot into the trash and giving up, someone sends me something like this.

Coming Home

So we will be bringing our baby home sometime in the next two weeks. That seems pretty crazy to me. I got into a sewing frenzy this weekend spurred on by my whiny post about everyone else's productivity and the fact that I wasn't about to let my kid wear someone else's work home from the hospital.

So I took this cute little striped romper that I bought at Old Navy during their big January sale and put this really big bun bun on it. This fabric is from a fat quarter that I bought at a quilt shop in Carrboro, NC almost 10 years ago. I really like mixing patterns but don't do it much with the Lemon Cadet stuff because people seem to like to play it safe -- especially when they're buying gifts.

I'm sure this outfit will be too big but I love it anyway.

My My

I sent out a big order to Taryn of MY MY. She just opened up a brand new storefront selling all the amazing stuff from her website and a lot of newly acquired handmade goods. The shop's in Hatboro, PA. There are six pairs of panties and six baby/toddler items.

She made me that snazzy little button there on the left to add to my growing "Retail" section. Taryn also has a great online Indie Craft Fair Guide. I'm thrilled to have my stuff at a *real* store, especially one as cool as My My.

Farewell to farewells...

I don't know what I was thinking. I guess I thought it would be really nice to say goodbye to all the little Etsy guys when they went to their new homes. Do I really have this kind of time? No.

So, farewell to Keaton the ladybug, Little Frog (who underwent sexual reassignment surgery and is now a lady, no longer Frederick), and Gretchen the bunny.

And last, but not least, a fond farewell to farewells.

An infestation of ladybugs

I've been working on custom designs for my Etsy shop, Lemon Cadet. My mom asked me to make something with a ladybug on it for my cutie cutie niece, Keaton Mackenzie. We went out to the stores because I didn't have anything in stock in her size. Mom didn't want a onesie because it's winter and she didn't want my designs to get covered up. How nice is that?

We were so lucky to find these super soft 100% cotton cardigans on sale. I happened upon a pair of little jeans in the right size and the inspiration was there. I stitched an open ladybug on the cardigan (almost like a monogram) then added a sweet walking ladybug on the jeans near the cuff. It's adorable, if I do say so myself.

The ladybugs will be added to the shop later this week and will soon be available for custom orders. My sister-in-law loved the set so much she ordered one for her friend's little girl. Bunnies on the way!
