The other day, a friend of mine posted on Facebook, "took the kids to buy crafts to get us through June, and they blew through half of them yesterday. It might be cheaper to put them in camp." I posted these links on her wall and realized that I need to spend some time with them myself as yesterday Zadie tells me, "after nap I wanna make a craft, a gluing craft."
These are my three favorite sites.
Made by Joel:
I've posted links to his blog before but now there is a categories bar on the right that makes it really easy to access the projects.
The Crafty Crow:
I've had this button in the sidebar for a really long time now. I actually haven't looked at it in ages but The Crafty Crow is such an amazing resource. Now that Zadie knows her way around a pair of scissors, it's time.
Kids Craft Weekly:
Lots of great ideas and fun projects are at Kids Craft Weekly and you can sign up to have an email sent to you so you don't forget.
Anybody have any good resources for kids crafts aside from loading up on pre-packaged kits from the store?

Project: Giveaway!
Contest is over. Click here for the winner. In celebration of the fabulous new look to the blog (see awesome banner above), I decided to do a giveaway. But first, more about the banner. Kimberly of FireDancer Designs had some of the best graphics I found while searching on Etsy. She has a nice, clean sense of design without a lot of fluff. She was super easy to work with (and I know I am not!). Don't you love it? I really don't know html but I am trying to teach myself some stuff. I was able to change the standard template colors from Blogger to the ones I had chosen for my Google Friend Connect gadget (see left sidebar) and Kimberly used those same colors for the banner. Somehow I also figured out how to remove the border that was around the compulsory header.
This blog isn't going to be about a lot of giveaways but a new look calls for some cheer. I stitched up this dress from a pattern I got on Etsy. It is a roomy size 2. The fabric is Alexander Henry's "Smiles Around the World" and is getting pretty hard to find. The dress has a cute little pleat up top and wide bell sleeves. So if you want a chance to win this, leave a comment on this post. For extra chances, post it to your Twitter with @LemonCadet somewhere in your tweet. I'll randomly pick a winner Feb. 22.

Special Delivery
So elves are our favorite. Then beans. Then monkeys. You would think that we like monkeys the best since we have so many of them but no. It's the elf. It's just really hard to find a good elf.
Zadie demanded this elf and I liked how it looked in its shipping box like a pauper's coffin.

Hey look! I'm on the front page.

Ever since Etsy started scrolling recently listed items on a 4 minute delay for their front page, I've doubted it. I never once saw an item of mine show up. Today I went to finish up a convo then thought I'd go see what treasury was being featured and there I was! Cute little yeti head on a pair of panties. I recycled some old pics to create a custom listing for a special order. Cute.
Yetis are happiest when they get some attention.

Trading is wonderful

I did a trade with a fellow Etsy seller, theGarbageGoose. She has four super cute children so we traded four of my little guys for some of her little guys.
She made a gorgeous doll for my mom who collects primitive dolls. It's stunning. See it here.
I don't trade very often and I find it very hard to say no to people who have asked me to trade. I've had to though. Sometimes I'm just too busy. I don't think it hurts to ask.
My experiences as both a buyer and a seller at Etsy have been very positive. Seeing this photo of all four of these beautiful children was, by far, the best experience I've ever had. I wish I could see all the kids who wear my clothes. I work so hard to make each little guy unique and well crafted.
Needless to say, this photo is courtesy of theGarbageGoose and better not be reproduced.
